How to Save Your Granny from a Runaway Train created by the brilliant duo of Swapna Haddow and Jess Bradley is a super fun, science how-to book filled with fascinating experiments and accessible explanations. Written in a graphic novel style similar to Jess’s A Day in the Life… books with Mike Barfield, it is so appealing! This is just perfect for the summer holidays with investigations kids can do themselves: make a parachute for an egg, lift heavy objects, build a pulley, make a compass and so much more. Each investigation is preceeded by a funny scenario with a big problem that needs to be solved like making a phone call without a phone or avoiding a grumpy emu in a maze (!!). How to Save Your Granny from a Runaway Train is definitely going to be on my Christmas shopping list for friends’ children this year!
