2021 Nature Month-By-Month: A Children’s Almanac by Anna Wilson & Elly Jahnz

2021 is a new year with new adventures to discover. 2021 Nature Month-By-Month: A Children’s Almanac is a fantastic resource bursting with ideas for families from The National Trust. As a winter of restrictions continues, many families are looking for new ideas for child-friendly activities. This book is the answer providing numerous fun and interesting tasks exploring our world and striking out into nature.

Each month gives details about special days, anniversaries, history of the month, festivals and traditions. Children will be challenged and intrigued by outdoor activities, recipes, crafts, games and fascinating facts. With a British multi-cultural focus, all readers are sure to find festivals that are comforting and familiar to them, as well as others that are new and interesting. Suitable for older children, the suggested activities are not “babyish” but give children an opportunity to try more risky activities in a safe way.

My children (ages 10, 10 & 13) have explored the book already and can’t wait to dive into a new chapter each month for the next year. They are particularly interested in the pages about wildlife spotting, the sea and the sky. I’m sure our resident baker will love trying out the recipes too!

Thank you to Nosy Crow and The National Trust for this fascinating guide to a year of adventures!
