I Want to be a Doctor by Becky Davies & Richard Merritt

I Want to be a Doctor is a perfect first look at the medical profession for little readers. A beautiful board book with sturdy pages and bright illustrations, it will draw young readers in while the surprise mirror ending personalises the ambition of the charming character.

This captivating picture book does not skimp on content. The young girl in the story wants to be a doctor and her life is full of all of the equipment and clothing she will need. Key vocabulary is clearly shown through labels, illustrations and explanations.

This inspiring book is part of a fantastic series providing children with a chance to see themselves in aspiring professions and learn about real people in the world around them.

The little girl in the book reminds me of a friend who is a very successful, caring doctor. I can imagine her sons loving this book and seeing what would have been Mummy’s dreams when she was small.
