Noah and the Starbird by Barry Timms & illustrated by Faye Hsu

Noah and the Starbird is a charming story encouraging children to be brave and reassuring them that sometimes grown-ups go away but they will come back again.

Noah’s daddy is in the hospital so he has to go to stay with his grandma. While he’s there, his grandma introduces him to a very special lamp with a glowing, little bird. This bird keeps him company and helps him to feel better about his worries. With a reassuring lullaby and a magic feather to help him to be brave and strong, the Starbird helps Noah get through this difficult time.

The Starbird is absolutely gorgeous! Children will be drawn in by the friendly illustrations and magical storyline. The relationship between Noah and his grandma is lovely and something many children will relate to. This is a story to be read again and again.
