Book Review, Early Reader

The Hat Full of Secrets by Karl Newson & illustrated by Wazza Pink

The Hat Full of Secrets is an absolutely delightful adventure with Henry Pepper and his grandad. The story grabs readers’ interest right from the start. Henry has a secret! What could it be? Will he tell us? Henry gives hints but won’t reveal what he’s hiding.

When Grandad tells him to “keep it under his hat” (quite literally), all sorts of other secrets come tumbling out. It seems that Grandad has a few secrets of his own! Tales of wonderfully far-fetched adventures entertain readers with light-hearted, funny details. It seems that Henry takes after his grandad and has a life of exciting secrets ahead of him.

The Hat Full of Secrets is a fantastic early reader for children just making the leap into longer books. With brightly-coloured, glossy pages, it is engaging and so much fun! Children will love reading this together, making predictions and trying to guess what secret is coming next!

Thank you to Little Tiger Press for this fantastically fun book!
