Antigua de Fortune of the High Seas by Anna Rainbow & Oli Hyatt is a pirate story with a difference. Overflowing with the folklore of the sea, the Pirate King shows the people of Haven that the stories of an ancient curse are real and when the Bloodmoon comes, there is definitely something to fear!
Antigua (Tiggy) refuses to live the life expected of her. She doesn’t want to wear dresses, dance with gentlemen and marry just to increase her family’s place in society. She wants to be free, to explore the sea, and to be true to herself. When her younger brother and the other boys on the island are kidnapped, Tiggy realises it’s up to her to save them and do what she was always meant to do.
What follows is an action-packed adventure in which Tiggy’s courage, determination and true self are key. A strange voice calling for help, an undeniable connection to the sea, and mysterious powers reveal her destiny and just how capable she is. Stakes are high when the dark sorcery of the sea challenges Tiggy at every turn. It looks like her quest may just cause her to lose everything.
Tiggy’s undeniable love of the sea shows readers just how beautiful and truly special it is. Incredible sea creatures play a key role in guiding Tiggy on her journey and the immense power of the ocean is revealed – something to be feared, respected and protected.
Readers will be swept away in this battle between good and evil, cheering on Tiggy and her friends while keeping one eye open for Sea Golems!
