Book Review, Non-fiction Books

Marvellous Machines by Jane Wilsher & Andres Lozano

Marvellous Machines is a very cool book about all sorts of incredible machines and inventions. It includes a very special magic lens that shows readers the inner workings of the technology with lots of surprises!

We’ve explored this book for hours finding new discoveries on every page!

From the simplest levers, pulleys and gears to the most complex space station, all kinds of machines are explained in fascinating detail. Technical vocabulary is clear and children are treated with respect and intelligence as they learn and explore.

This book is definitely going to be popular in the classroom with the hands-on aspect of the magic lens giving it that extra appeal. The pages would make excellent model texts for explanation and other non-fiction writing.
