Book Review, Non-fiction Books

Above & Below: Sea and Shore by Harriet Evans & illustrated by Hannah Bailey

Above and Below: Sea and Shore is a unique split page “lift the flap” non-fiction book that reveals ocean habitats above and below the waves.

Through beautiful, detailed illustrations and interesting facts, readers are shown the fascinating living things along the coastline, in the polar oceans, in estuaries and many other salt water habitats.  Gorgeous combinations of colours blend perfectly to draw the reader’s eye around the page. There is so much to see! I appreciate how the plants and animals chosen are not the usual selections. Flora and fauna such as rainbow scorpionfish, snow petrels and sea lavender paint a picture of a vibrant, diverse underwater world.

Thank you to Little Tiger for this beautiful book!
