Out of Nowhere by Chris Naylor-Ballesteros

Out of Nowhere is the charming story of two friends – a beetle and a caterpillar. Gorgeous black and white illustrations with simple red accents depict a tale of kindness, acceptance and true friendship.

Readers see beetle and caterpillar sharing a picnic on  a big rock and watching the moon. They love to be together. Then, one day, the beetle’s friend is missing. Worried, it sets off to try to find the caterpillar, not realising that it hasn’t really gone very far away at all. After a long journey, the beetle realises it’s made a terrible mistake and its friend is nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, the caterpillar has been very busy and comes to find its friend as a beautiful butterfly. The caterpillar has changed but is still just as good a friend as it was before.

Through this lovely story, readers see that true friendship lasts a lifetime. Even though we all grow and change, our friends will always be there for us – looking for us when we’re lost and celebrating all the good times too.

Thank you to Nosy Crow for this really lovely book!
