Flyntlock Bones: The Sceptre of the Pharaohs by Derek Keilty & illustrated by Mark Elvins

Sail the Seven Seas with this hilarious cast of private investigator pirates as they solve crimes and outwit those who dare to cross their path! Flyntlock Bones: The Sceptre of the Pharaohs in the first book in the Flyntlock Bones trilogy. Young Flyntlock has left the orphanage to find his way in the world. When faced with a band of pirates, he doesn’t expect them to be working for good rather than evil. He soon finds that not only does he have a lot to learn about ships, but that he is pretty good at solving mysteries. He must use all of his determination and smarts to keep up with this sea-faring detective crew!

This story is fast-paced and fun! With all of the ingredients of a great pirate story – a map, treasure, spooky caves and creepy Egyptian mummies (!!), readers are carried away on the adventure looking for clues and solving the case.

Captain Long John Watkins and his Black Hound crew are certainly pirates (and private investigators) with a twist. This will be a fantastic series that young readers will devour!

Thank you to Scallywag Press for this fun story!
