Bridget Vanderpuff and the Ghost Train by Martin Stewart ~ Blog Tour

It’s wonderful to be back with Bridget in her brilliant bakery in Belle-on-Sea. Full of mouth-watering treats, marvellous inventions and a recipe for adventure, Bridget Vanderpuff and the Ghost Train is a delightful story! Readers can enjoy this spooky mystery as a continuation of the series but there’s also enough background information to read it as a standalone book.

It’s nearly time for The Night of the Hungry Ghosts parade. With spooks, ghouls and sugary treats, the whole town is excited. Mr Vanderpuff is busy trying to come up with ideas for a delicious centrepiece for the parade when a ghost train is spotted coming to town. People start to go missing and the whole celebration is at risk. Can Bridget use her clever intuition, keen skills of observation and ingenious inventions to find the missing people, save the parade and come up with showstopping bake?

Bridget is the most wonderful heroine! Quirky, resilient and full of fun, she is a fantastic role model for readers – not to mention her magnificent hair! She inspires curiosity, creativity and invention.

The other characters are just as intriguing: Lord Dare, the three-time Olympic discus gold medalist and new Earl of Bombarton Hall; Captain Lufty, the old sea dog with an astounding hat; and, of course, Mr Vanderpuff, the amazingly talented baker who gave Bridget a family.

Bridget Vanderpuff and the Ghost Train is perfect for Autumn. A ghostly, gloulish mystery, it’s a great choice for an October / Hallowe’en read.
