Book Review, Middle Grade Fiction

Buck ‘N’ Bronco Hit the Road! by Guy Bass & illustrated by Steve May

Buck ‘N’ Bronco: Hit the Road! is a hilariously fun lower middle grade story from Barrington Stoke. Full of silly antics, jokes and a bit of toilet-humour, children will love laughing along with Buck and Bronco as they set off into the wide world.

The Happy Ranch theme park has closed and is going to be demolished. Buck and Bronco, the two faithful mascots, find themselves homeless and unemployed. They don’t know anything except trying to entertain people so they must find another way of doing it.

Full of confidence but incredibly naïve, the horse and deer are shocked by everything they find in the outside world. Maybe they are just too old-fashioned and out of touch to make their way in the new world of theme park entertainment. Will they find a place where they can make people happy?

In true Barrington Stoke style, this fun and engaging book is incredibly accessible for all readers. With dyslexia-friendly font, spacing and page tint, so many readers will be able to enjoy the silly story and funny animals.

Thank you to Barrington Stoke for another super book!
