The Monstrous Tale of Celery Crumble by Ben Joel Price

Celery Crumble is a real troublemaker and this book is full of surprises. Every time she does something wrong, Celery will exclaim, “Sorry! Not Sorry!” with absolutely no remorse. Children will giggle and gasp as they delight in Celery’s naughty antics wondering just what she’s going to get up to next.

Children love to read about someone being naughty and the lessons they learn in the end. The anticipation of what is going to happen is thrilling making children want to read the book again and again!

As the story progresses, young readers soon discover that if you’re going to act like a monster, then a monster you’ll become. Celery realises that being a “little monster” isn’t fun anymore. Will she change her ways and can her friends and family trust her?

This fantastically fun book will help readers to think about the consequences of their actions and the kind of people they want to be. It is a great jumping off point for discussions about behaviour, manners and how we should treat others.

The illustrations are brilliant. Celery is cute and appealing but with a mischievous glint in her eye. The full extent of her naughtiness leaps off the page with wonderful style!

Thank you to Oxford University Press for this fun book!
