Kindness Grows by Britta Teckentrup

Kindness Grows is a peek-through picture book with a difference. Each double page spread shows the contrast between what happens when we behave negatively or positively.

On the negative side, children shout, disagree and use mean, ugly words. These words can’t be taken back. Friends are left alone. There’s a crack between them and it continues to widen with each thoughtless word.

On the positive side, kindness and caring grow into something magical between the children. With each encouraging word, their friendship blossoms and flourishes into something special. They create a world of hope and sharing through working together.

This is a lovely book for talking with children about the impact of their words and actions. They can clearly see the effects of a friendly community versus one of sadness and isolation. It would be a great addition to any Early Years or Key Stage One PSHE curriculum.

Thank you to Little Tiger Press for this thoughtful book!
