Greenwild: The Forest in the Sky by Pari Thomson & illustrated by Elisa Paganelli

The Forest in the Sky is the gripping finale of the epic Greenwild series by Pari Thomson. I was thrilled to have the opportunity for an early read on NetGalley and jumped in full of anticipation of something wonderful. Teeming with life and rich world-building, The Forest in the Sky is a fantastic story of hidden gifts, strength and magic. True friendship, family connections and the pursuit of truth grows out of an adventure that leaves readers on the edge of their seats.

Having discovered so much about the magic flowing through her veins, Daisy sets off in search of her mother and the other Botonists who are being held prisoner in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Because the Grim Reapers are still after her, Daisy can trust no one. She plans to have her good friend, Max, by her side but when there’s an attack on the mission and Max is shipwrecked, Daisy has to go on without him. Through parallel adventures, Daisy and Max both learn so much about themselves and their families.

There is an intensity and responsibility in this story: “If Amazeria falls, the whole rainforest falls. And if that happens, the entire world will be lost.” Greenwild is a book series automatically associated with the environment and conservation, celebrating the purest of magic – nature.
