Snails of the Unexpected is a delightfully unique gastropod adventure by Terrie Chilvers. Following the brilliant Michael The Amazing Mind-Reading Sausage Dog series, a pair of determined snails take centre stage as they try to save their way of life and prevent slugs from taking over. Things get political when these slow-moving campaigners reach Downing Street and attempt to get the Prime Minister on their side.
Fergus the little snail has big opinions! He hates seeing slugs take over the neighbourhood with their spas and salad bars. Shelby is much more relaxed. She loves to eat and is sure Angela, their human home-owner, will look after them. Ironically, it’s Shelby who comes up with a plan when she shows Fergus her fantastic mega-morphing abilities. She can turn into any object she wishes. This will make a huge difference when it comes to gtting these slow snails to London!
Charming and absolutely adorable, Fergus and Shelby have so much personality. Readers age 7+ will love joining them on their undercover adventure to stop the persecution of snails everywhere!
Brenda Figueroa’s illustrations are gorgeous. bringing a pair of characters to life who children will always remember.
