How to be a Revolutionary by Lucy Ann Unwin ~ Blog Tour

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for the inspiring How to be a Revolutionary!

A general election is coming up and Natalie’s house has turned into a campaigning headquarters for one of the parties. Adults come and go with their leaflets and plans to convince the neighbours to vote with them. When Mum gets fed up of all the “revolutionaries” tramping through her house, she moves out. Suddenly, their family is falling apart and there’s nothing Natalie and her sister, Lily, can do about it.

The girls decide to start a revolution of their own – a Rat Revolution to encourage other people to enjoy rats as pets. What first seems like a great idea soon results in Natalie’s bedroom being over-run by baby rats and a situation they don’t know how to deal with. Through it all, they learn a lot about listening to others, treating everyone with respect, finding their passion, building a team and changing the world!

As a Brownie and Guide leader, I often challenge girls to take action in their world. Through charity projects, community action and finding their voice, our girls are learning to speak up for those in need and work together to make a difference. I know they would enjoy this story and be inspired to follow the Revolutionary Code.
