Worry Boots by Lisa Thompson & Aysha Awwad

Lisa Thompson has such a gift for writing about feelings in a way that resonates with young readers. Honest, relatable and fun, her stories are perfect for PSHE lessons, class reading time or for sharing at home.

Worry Boots, charmingly illustrated by Aysha Awwad, helps children navigate the feelings they might encounter on their first day of school. Connie is on her way but she has to keep stopping because there’s something in her shoe. Is it a dinosaur, a unicorn or even a shark? When it turns out to be a pebble, her mum helps her realise that sometimes, when we worry about something, it can feel scarier than it actually is.

Worry Boots is a must-have for Nursery and Reception teachers this autumn as well as parents of children just starting school. It will be sure to ease any worries and bring a smile to little one’s faces when they think about their first day.
