Super Sausage Dog Stories to Make You Laugh!

My daughter’s best friend has a sausage dog, Bertie, who is a bit of a superhero! He’s absolutely adorable and most definitely the leading character in his life. Although the girls are 16 now, they would have loved these two books when they were younger. Funny, surprising and absolutely charming “Super Sausage to the Rescue” & “Michael, the Incredible Super-Sleuth Sausage Dog” are a pair of books not to be missed!

Super Sausage to the Rescue by Rachel Morrisroe & illustrated by Jenny Taylor

Super Sausage to the Rescue is the first in the new Super Pets series. A secret league of very special pets who keep the world safe from harm, this brilliant team are ready for anything.

Cleverly told from dual point of view – Harry, a young boy who always wanted a dog & Dottie, a dog with a difference (she can talk and fly!) – this story keeps readers engaged with funny, exciting and silly hijinks. Children will look at their pets in a new way after seeing just what the Super Pets can do!

The characterisation is brilliant – especially “The Whisperer”, an undercover cat working at “Frowning Street” to influence the Prime Minister and keep the country on track. I can’t wait for the next book in the series which involves some superhero hamsters!

Thank you to Lily Orgill & Puffin Books for this fun read!

Michael The Incredible Super-Sleuth Sausage Dog by Terrie Chilvers & illustrated by Tim Budgen

Michael The Incredible Super-Sleuth Sausage Dog is the second book in this fun series.

You can read my review of the first book, Michael The Amazing Mind-Reading Sausage Dog below:

Michael (the sausage dog) is a Hollywoof su-paw-star but things aren’t quite going to plan. His ratings are dropping and he needs to do something to win over his fans. When a guest on his television show, Susan the Chocolate Labrador, gets dognapped, he has to use all his mind-reading and detective skills to find her.

Hilariously told from Michael’s point of view, readers will love following this dog-celeb on his delightful adventures. Perfect for Year 2 & 3, it’s a challenging length but full of personality, incredibly expressive text and one funny event after another so it will keep children engaged right to the end.

Thank you to Firefly Press & Graeme Williams for this fun book!
