After being treated to a sneak peek from Sophy Henn herself at the Simon & Schuster Middle Grade Spring Showcase in March, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Happy Hills: Attack of the Giant Danger Kittens! This bright and cheerful comic style novel is so appealing! The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and will draw children in from the very first glance.
The characters are delightful. From Ace, the unicorn lost in Happy Hills, to Mimi, Sparks, Shroomer, Quack, Spats, Disco Cat and Captain (Crosspants), each has their own brilliant personality and story to share. Children will love deciding on their favourite and having a go at the step-by-step draw along at the back of the book.

As Ace makes his way through Happy Hills, he meets each character who tells him their own version of The Legend of Happy Hills. An engaging thread ties all of these mini stories together into one big adventure. The attack of some giant, purple kittens is the icing on the cake as the gang make it clear that no one should call them cute! They mean business and will stop at nothing to protect Happy Hills!
This new comic book series is purrrr-fect for readers age 5+ with each age group taking something new from the story and illustrations.
A huge thank you to Simon & Schuster Children’s for this fun book!
