Interview with Blackbeard & Other Vicious Villains is the second title in an absolutely fantastic series of “interviews” with famous people from the past. This time it’s ten formidable foes – those figures from history who we love to hate but find so deliciously intriguing. Discover the (not so) good, the bad and the ugly in this unputdownable book!
| Blackbeard | Victor Lustig |
| Guy Fawkes | Bonnie & Clyde |
| Nero | Vlad the Impaler |
| Ned Kelly | Zheng Yi Sao |
| Ivan the Terrible | Billy the Kid |
Educational, engaging and delightfully humourous, the question & answer style is very accessible and pulls readers in. The bite-sized chunks of information are easy to remember while the maps and illustrations add so much detail.
Author Andy Seed has put himself in the book as the interviewer / time travellor. Moving through history, he travels around the world giving these notorious real-life characters a chance to tell their side of the story. Full of thematic vocabulary and individual dialects, young readers will feel like they’re listening in on the conversation.
This book would be a brilliant prompt for chidren’s own writing – giving them a chance to interview characters from history.
- Who would you interview?
- What would you ask?
- What would their answers be?
- How would they speak?
