The Mummy’s Curse: The Butterfly Club by M.A. Bennett ~ Blog Tour

The Mummy’s Curse is the second book in an incredible time-travelling adventure series. M.A. Bennett plays liberally with time, taking readers from 1894 London forward to 1922 Egypt and back again. As we approach the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb on 4th November 2022, this book is even more timely.

The Butterfly Club is a group of time-travelling thieves who steal artefacts from the future to cause human progress to happen sooner. In this story, Luna, Aidan and Konstantin are given the challenge of travelling to the Valley of the Kings just before Howard Carter finds King Tutankhamun. They must locate the tomb and bring the mummy back to the British Museum. This doesn’t sit right with Luna who believes the remains of the dead should be treated with more respect.

What follows is a gripping journey full of fascinating characters from history, undercover deception, a threatening curse and foreshadowing of the future. I love the combination of imaginative story and true facts. Primary children love learning about the Ancient Egyptians and are always intrigued by King Tutankhamun. They will devour this story and be encouraged to think about the consequences of history.

I’m thrilled to share a fantastic extract of The Mummy’s Curse for readers to explore!
